Been avoiding vox for a while because there's so much drama and complaining going on lately. (OMG IT'S JUST HAIR WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL.) I'm so glad I checked it today though, to find out about the Hana Yori Dango Final preorder~~~ Shipping wound up being 4300yen. This should go down in the record books as the most expensive movie of all time. *weeps bitter tears* Only for Doumyouji. <333
I had a nightmare last night that for whatever reason, Yamapi and I were living together in a mansion. It turned out to be haunted, and like many nightmares, I was brutally murdered by very scary things. Right now I am super pissed at Yamapi for not saving me. DDD<
Another thing I'm pissed about is the 2,000 Japanese fans that got to go to Taiwan. So this Asia Tour is, once again, mostly a chance for Japanese girls to go on vacation with Arashi rather than Arashi giving a concert for the rest of Asia, after all. Geh. I will kill them if they pull another Secret Talk 2006 thing. (well, not Arashi themselves, but the staff. You know what I mean.)
edit: Anyone know why Beautiful Days says "Released Postponed" on CDJapan? ;0;
Just finished watching the last episode. I haven't talked about it much here, but I like it a lot. Usually I hate depressing dramas, but this one always kept me on my toes and dying to see the next episode. Spoilers~
Not looking forward to Code Blue so much. (Did they really not have helicopter ambulences in Japan before now? More and more I am realizing that Japan isn't the futuristic place of robots and flying cars that we learned about in school.) I like Pi, but I want Himitsu to get higher ratings. D< Speaking of Himitsu, Nino and Aiba were pimpin' today. They should look like that every day. <3 <3 <3
I got my photobook on Tuesday, too! We're in it, but thankfully my face cannot be seen at all~ The faces are blurred out anyway so I guess it didn't matter. It really is more like a magazine than a photobook, but it was cute. The huge picture of the Bellagio almost made me cry with nostalgia. I'll be a mess when I see the movie.
My dog came through surgery fine, but she has an infection that is quite TMI. She's been sleeping a lot (Doctor's orders.) so I can still goof around on the internet like normal most of the time. Guess I spoke too soon.
Again, Happy Birthday, Wendy~~ Good luck kidnapping Nino in Korea!
edit: Have I mentioned lately how much I hate the way you have to insert HTML into vox entries? ROAR.
I SAW ITTTT. THEY SHOWED THE BELLAGIO. They showed the freaky clown chandeliers at The Orleans. They showed Doumyouji rolling up his sleeves at the roulette table. They showed everything that I had been repeating in my head over and over again since last week. I tried to take a screenshot of the hotel scenes, but my reflexes aren't up to par and got this one instead. ;; It's better than nothing until the properly recorded news clips come out, I guess.
They talked about the fans in Hong Kong, but didn't mention us at all. Like they say, being the "good girls" gets you nowhere in life. xD
I want to see this movie right now.
Oh my god. Oh my god. I don't know what to say, my hands are shaking. Let's start from the beginning.
After I wrote my long entry this morning I went back to bed and slept until 1pm. There was nothing to do today, so my aunt and I decided to go shopping on the strip. At the shuttle bus stop, two of the over 21 fans that got to sit close up at the bar during filming approached me and said that there would be filming at The Palms starting at 5pm. I wanted to email all the awesome fans from the 20th about this, but I never got their email addresses, so I was at a loss. ;;;; In the meantime, we went to the Venetian and I ran into one of the staff members. The short and stout guy with the square glasses and spiky hair that was wearing a red jacket on the 19th. He was by himself, I guess just shopping for personal reasons. Anyway, he was near a hat shop. The hats in the window reminded me so much of Jun that I had to go in and buy a hat for myself there, which I wore for the rest of the day. (My hat looks nothing like any of Juns', though.) I ate lunch at Nathan's New York Hot Dogs. Hot dogs from New York = Hana Yori Dango! Then I took a picture of Haagen Dazs while thinking of Mao-chan. /end of creepy second hand stalking
I headed to The Palms at 5 and no one was there. After asking three different people that gave me crazy looks when I mentioned "Is a Japanese film crew coming here today?" I finally left. I headed to the Bellagio instead, because I knew they would film there sometime too and I wanted to get a picture. You may remember them all being there for Sugao way back in 1997, and Shou-chan was there too in 2005 as well. I see some guards standing around and blocking off a section in front of the fountains. They couldn't possibly be coming here tonight, could they? It's too much of a coincidence. It's not happening. It's not happening. But it was. ;____;
Another coincidence happened when the adorable Vanessa and her adorable friend and brother happened to pass by. (if you happen to read this and want me to edit out your name, I'll gladly do so. I don't know what nickname you use on the internet. ;_;) We watched the staff for a while, and at around 8pm Jun arrived. He was having what seemed like a funny conversation with Mao as he passed by, in his red and black clown pants again. They began doing rehearsals in front of the fountain. The song that played first after their arrival was "My Heart Will Go On." The fountain area got so foggy we couldn't see them anymore and we were freaking out trying to wave it away. Then it cleared enough for us to see Matsujun waving away the fog too and laughing. From then on, the fountain show had no music.
Around this time one of the American staff members showed up. He told us that Matsujun was basically a dick and he had no right to throw the fans out yesterday, and he wanted to apologize on his behalf. He bragged for a bit about how he's worked with Brad Pitt and even he wasn't as much of a diva as Jun, and told us we should spread our experience around the internet (basically he was telling us to give Matsujun a bad name based on false information) and that we did nothing wrong. Yes, it's true, we did nothing wrong, but another fan did. They do have the right to kick out someone who interrupts filming with camera flashes, I believe. He said we shouldn't have sent an apology letter, that they should apologize to us, and went on and on and on. The sentiment was nice, but he obviously didn't know the whole story. Later on Karen ♥♥♥ showed up and told us basically the same thing, except replace Matsujun with Matsujun's manager.
We continued to watch from a safe distance as they shot the scene from different angles.Then filming wrapped up, and Karen told us to come closer and take some pictures, because they were doing group photos. So we run over and the second my hand hit the shutter button on my phone, the devil herself runs up to us saying "No pictures!" Ahaha too late. I'll take Karen's word over hers. Still, I feel bad about sharing the picture to the public, so please PM me if you want it and promise not to share it anywhere. Tomorrow morning I'll be trying to go back home (if the weather allows) so I have no idea when I'll get to use the internet again. Please be patient.
Here I am rambling and rambling and I haven't gotten to the main part of this story yet. The other girls wrote a little note to Jun and we had planned on giving it to him together after filming. We were right there when he walked out, attached to the human bot fly of a manager. (I'm having fun coming up with these names, can you tell?) He was mere inches away from us. If my nose hadn't been numb from the cold, I could have smelled him. We all kind of went "Mamamatsumoto-saaan" and he looked straight at us. He either had a half smile or a one-quarter smile, I can't decide, but he definitely didn't look angry. He didn't take the letter (I think he only accepted letters when bot fly wasn't watching.) and started hurrying off, nearly breaking into a run. I wonder if he had diarrhea. Needless to say, I cried and cried all the way back to the hotel. I never expected to see him today. I never expected in a million years to get that close. I am in shock.
This doesn't affect me as I'm leaving tomorrow, but my aunt also got some more filming info from Karen. It turns out they're leaving for the airport as I type to go back to Japan, and then coming back on Thursday the 28th. On that Thursday and Friday they'll be filming at the Kingmen (sp?) Airport. Those of you that live in Vegas, I hope you're able to spot them. ♥ and please send me your email addresses. ;____;
Super long, but please please please read it to the end to avoid misunderstandings.
The day started out with a bit of confusion, as it was 11:00 and there was still not group of fans scooping out the place and I had no idea where to stand. So I was there going "durrr" when Matsujun, Natsuki, and Mao walked right past again. Matsujun had no make up on at the time. M- m- moe. Later the nice security lady (From here on called Karen. Seriously, she's the nicest person in the world. I really wanted to ask for her address to send her a gift card or something, but I couldn't work up the courage.) showed us all where to stand and all was well for a while.
They filmed a scene right in front of us with Natsuki, Matsujun, Mao, and Naohito. Doumyouji was supposed to walk up to Naohito's character and give him a death glare, but during one take Matsujun went up and hugged him instead. xD By the way, the mystery man I mentioned yesterday really was him. I couldn't believe it, he looks at least ten years younger in person.
There was some behind the scenes filming, and a lady with a professional looking camera took our picture a few times. Then Mao-chan and Jun (who were on break at the blackjack table) kinda looked at our signs and smiled/laughed. Even though it was early morning by his standards, he seemed really happy and energetic.
After a while things got complicated and we were moved around a lot, lastly we went into the nearby restaurant and ordered little things. My aunt, who was supposedly going to be at the spa and fitness center all day, caught the Hanadan fever and came along with me. 8D;; So we spent an hour or two eating chocolate cake and watching Matsujun act as Doumyouji from about twenty feet away. I saw him put in eyedrops, poke and prod Mao, and then watched the stylist attempt to apply gel to his curls with A TOOTHBRUSH. Around that moment, I thought today was the greatest day of my life. I mean, what possibly could be better? Maybe if the cake hadn't had been so horribly bland.
There were a few fans standing up in the cafe taking pictures. I saw them, but just hoped they were actually stretching their arms and just happened to have cameras in their hands, because no one could be that stupid. Later, I would seriously regret not punching their lights out.
Filming finished for a while, but I heard they were eating dinner in a private room by the French Market Buffet. Against my better judgment (omg I don't want to be a stalker, I was just so curious ;;) I went to check it out. You couldn't see them, but there were a group of fans in front of the entrance like they were waiting to ambush them. I felt bad, so I left right away, but went to bathroom first. I passed Mao on the way inside. <3333 Guyyssss, why is she so cute? She doesn't look that cute on TV.
When they came back from break, I watched a bit of filming on the stage from behind some slot machines. They wouldn't let us back into the restaurant unless we were going to eat and leave. I heard that Jun said he didn't want fans around. I assumed they were going to do a kiss scene or a film a major plot point. I stuck around for a while and then was approached by Karen (the lovely lovely security officer) saying that we would be allowed to go up into the conference rooms high above the filming site to watch. Found out then that those fans mentioned earlier were taking pictures with flash, and Jun was super pissed about it. Oh.
It hadn't been five minutes in the conference room when we were told to leave. Someone had taken another flash picture and we were found out. I seriously thought a physical fight was about to break out, but unfortunately the bitch ran off right after taking the picture. Hopefully she tripped on the escalator and it shredded her in half. I don't have do-s as my username for nothing, you know.
Went back to the room and bawwwww'd for about an hour, then finally calmed down enough to write an apology note to Jun. When I finished it, I was still too upset to walk, so my aunt went to deliver it to Karen for me. She wouldn't take it, saying that she didn't have the authority. Then she proceeded to tell her that it was NOT Jun himself who was pissed at us. It was his manager. Apparently since filming started, she was being a real bitch and making insane demands. The American staff was avoiding her and preferred to work with Mao's manager when they could. I wonder if she purposely spread around that Jun was pissed and put words in his mouth, or if somewhere along the lines the story got obscured. Either way, Matsujun's manager = not a very likable person. or so it seems. Excuse the excessive use of bold, I just really want to get that out there. Don't blame Jun for any of this, there has been enough stress already for him. Although, even if it was him that was pissed I still wouldn't blame him.
Anyway, my aunt somehow finds one of the Japanese producers and gives my note to her. She said she would pass it along to Jun and was great about the whole thing. Now, though, I'm feeling kind of bad because I addressed it to "Matsumoto-san" and not to the staff. I honestly had no idea at the time I was writing it that it wasn't he himself that was mad at us. Well, he probably can't read my handwriting anyway. xP Thankfully, AWESOME FAN GROUP (tm?) made a much better apology letter and we all signed it, even the celebrity seven year old boy. You might have seen his videos on Youtube. Dammit, I should have asked for his autograph. <3
We sat around in the lobby from 9pm until, what, 1:30am? Finally, filming resumed. At one point he was passing right in front of us (wearing a snazzy dark gray suit and black pants that showed off his anorexic thin legs) but we were too petrified to even look at him half the time. Even if he wasn't pissed at us, he was probably quite distracted and we wanted to stay out of the way as much as possible. Then, the crew moved back into the valet. SUPER NICE security guard tells us to follow him outside with the film crew and "to act like we own the place, because we are the fans." O shi- my waterworks are starting. When we got situated, I saw Jun clearly for the first time since the whole fiasco started. He was smiling wide and camwhoring a bit to the behind the scenes camera. I knew this would probably be the last time we saw him, and I was just so relieved that my last memory of him he seemed to be enjoying himself. I couldn't stop crying. *dies*
The scene was with Doumyouji and two new (villian?) characters. Doumyouji chased after a car. All of a sudden, I heard "Cut!" and instantaneously people started closing up shop. He was still smiling wide, the kind that makes your cheeks hurt just to watch, and bowed in every direction going "otsukaresama deshita~" with the rest of the crew. It was over by 2am.
After filming our group went over to some important looking men in coats with the Hanadan logo on them and gave them the letter. One of the men took off his hat and bowed to us. The cast was really nice. Both the hotel and film staff was really nice. The fans (minus one) were a great group of people, and I can't stress this enough. Las Vegas is the best place in the world. I believe, in the end, we left a good impression.
Also! I tried very hard not to give away any big details from the filming, I know the director is being really strict about spoilers being leaked. My pictures were super blurry and mostly of hotel scenery and lighting equipment, but just in case, I'm going to lock them for now. It might be too late, but please don't spread them around the internet too much. xP
PSA Internet is $12.00 per day here, so I won't be able to get caught up on things until I get home, I think. zomg zomg I saw a preview of the new CUT and I think I'm going to print out the cover and plaster in triple life size on my ceiling.
edit: I just got a call from my grandmother. There's like ten inches of snow on the ground and hailing back in St. Louis. I might be stranded in Vegas for a while. 8D;;;
Again, new pics here. That red blob? That's Matsujun. He was wearing black and red pinstripe clown pants and sunglasses. In the middle of the night.
- Where can I start? omg. omg omg. I arrived at the valet late because I was so tired from standing around doing nothing at Prime Rib. I arrived just in time to see MATSUJUN WALKING RIGHT PAST ME. He arrives so suddenly a lot of people shrieked out of pure surprise. He swished and swayed off, ignoring us.
- A few minutes later, he walked past us again. This time looking almost pissed. Ignored us.
- He came back! (I'm guessing it was a bathroom break) This time he walked past with that look on his face when he's trying not to smile. You all have seen it. Then I remembered about Jun's on/off modes. Since he was working, he had been on his "on" mode all day and most likely oblivious to any distractions. (ie, fans) He slipped up the last time and almost smiled, but caught himself. Honestly, right then and there I nearly burst out crying. Actually, I think some girls did start crying.
- Katou Natsuki arrived on the scene! She walked past me too, incredibly gorgeous. Presumably another bathroom break, she came back a few minutes later waving both hands and smiling wide. She seems almost identical to her character, super nice and friendly.
- One scene is Tsukushi and Doumyouji pulling up in this red, filthy antique car with sunglasses on their heads. WUT.
- Finally I found my way to the other side of the valet and was able to watch Jun on break. He seemed to be having a good time, but man, he doesn't sit still. When he's not checking VTRs or talking with people, he's standing there twirling his legs.
- During a break, Jun and Mao started taking pictures of each other. Then, suddenly, Jun turns around and takes a picture of US. alskfjhsdlkgjh I heard someone say that they saw him delete it afterwards, but! <3 <3
- Another scene went like this
Tsukushi: Shigeruuuuu!
Shigeru: (runs up hugging Tsukushi) Tsukushi!
Doumyouji: (walking up) Hey.
Shigeru: UWOA TSUKASA.
...which was the main scene that was filmed tonight.
They're still filming right now, but it was one last scene with Mao-chan getting thrown out of the hotel, and it was starting to rain, so I decided to come inside. I heard filming finished safely. 8D~
edit: I'm so so sorry, but I'm way too tired to reply to comments today. I don't know if I'll have the time to reply to them tomorrow, either. But I will get to them asap!
REALLY FAST DRIVE BY SPAM POST
Pictures are here. Actually I'm posting everything I remember in the Hanadan chatroom (I'm itsumodoori) that was created by the Soompi forum members, so you might see this same information on there.
- They filmed on the balcony of the Prime Rib Loft. I was there from 12:30 to 5:45. Saw Jun from a bit far away (he was in a 'serious' mood) and Mao who smiled and bowed at us when she passed by closely. She's super super cute.
- Supposedly right now (at 6pm) they are eating dinner around the Chinese restaurant by the Prime Rib. Funny story, the lady at the restaurant is nice. (edit: The lady was Chinese, but it wasn't a Chinese restaurant, just an average cafe type place. I got a bit mixed up from lack of sleep. xD) She met Jun the day before when he was lost in the hotel. xD;; She said he was so skinny, but so cute. He tried speaking to her in English, but only knew the word "room" (? I couldn't hear very well.) She was Chinese, but knew enough Japanese to give him directions, I assume.
- The security is really nice, but strict about pictures. I could only take them before filming.
- I heard Fujiki Naohito was in the movie? I don't know, one of the new male actors looked too young to be him. He reminded me of Kaname Jun, but I'm not sure. omg I hope this doesn't get spread around the entire internet when I'm not sure at all. ;;;
- Oh yeah, they were filming a fight scene. Couldn't see it well, but Doumyouji grabs mystery man's collar and leans him against the bars of the balcony.
- Miraculously, my Doumyouji cookies survived the flight. I gave them to some people, but they seem to be too afraid to eat them. xD I tasted one, and they taste kind of bad. I sincerely hope no one decides to eat them. *fails*
I saw some videos and all the complaining about Jun's arrival in Hong Kong at the Soompi forum (which I have been lurking at for updates on Vegas) Wow, talk about uncivilized and rude. I think fans in Hong Kong have just guaranteed that Arashi will never, ever have a concert there. At least, I hope not. If I was from Hong Kong I would want to kill myself right about now. Thankfully we have overly enthusiastic security guards here in America so it won't get that out of hand? (and I mean overly enthusiastic. That's deodorant, not a bomb, guys, please let me take it with me.) I still don't see why the film crew felt the need to film there (and here, for that matter) when they could have gone to a classy place like Paris.
Jun will be coming back by the 15th for Music Station, right? (If he survives, that is. xP) Realized that Shukudai-kun filming is on the 26th too. edit: wtf, I posted about that a few days ago and forgot about it. I'm brain dead.
I heard that there might be cameras there filming fans for a making of DVD, so now I need to make a sign board to cover my face with. 8DDD I don't want to bring my uchiwa because it will be unfair to the other cast members, so I'm thinking about making mini uchiwa for all of them. Hur. I like making more work for myself.
Step and Go PV = We Can Make It + The Matrix. I didn't like the We Can Make It PV all that much, but hopefully this one will be better. Moreso than than the PV, I can't wait for the making of. I love making ofs. ;;; Let me ask one question. What is that cape thing that Nino is wearing? I'm pretty sure he stole it from my grandmother's closet.
Vegas continued! Well, I have the plane ticket and hotel booked, I can't get out of it. No ice storm will stop me now. >D Even so, I couldn't sleep at all last night worrying. There seem to be significantly less people planning on going to this than people planning on going to NY last year, but still I can't help worrying about what if one of these people is obnoxious and interrupts filming or bugs the actors? I would be mortified. Although, when my power went out for those few days they were in New York, I got back online thinking I would read tons of reports about people who went to watch the filming. It turns out, all these people were just talk and no one actually went. Maybe this time will be the same. 8D But ooh, what if a bomb is discovered at the airport and filming is postponed to a date after I'm scheduled to leave? What if I break my leg? I- I- I think I worry too much. Just like with concerts, it's impossible for me to get excited about it until I'm actually there.
Also, I noticed there's Shukudai-kun filming on the 26th. Do you think all of Doumyouji's scenes could be done in time for him to fly back by then, or are they going to use a cardboard cutout Matsujun in the studio for the next few weeks? 8D;;
So. Uh. Hanadan in Las Vegas. I'm in a dilemma here. I can't afford it, but I do have enough miles to get a free plane ticket. Problem solved, right? No, I also have barely enough miles to get a free ticket to Japan this summer, and if I use up some miles now I won't have enough for Japan. BLARG. I feel a lot better going to Vegas over New York, though, as I've been there many times before and this time we have some concrete information on filming locations. The hotel they're filming in those two days is actually affordable to stay in, but the airfare is going to kill me. I don't know what to do. Show me the way, magic 8 ball!
This 8 Ball site is hilarious, you can see the questions people asked before you. I love the "Will this girl grab my genitals?" one. xD
On a more serious(ly insane) note, NEW HIDDEN FORTRESS TRAILER ZOMG!!!! There are quite a few new scenes speaking lines zomg zomg I'm dying. I would die even more if the quality didn't suck.
I lol'd at Pi's An An shoot, but what I'm most concerned with now is finding scans of this month's Duet. GLASSES! + Ryou! I really want to see BOAO too.
