D- DOME CONCERT. You know, just two years ago everyone was so pessimistic, saying "I wonder if they'll even have a summer concert next year? Arashi's so unpopular, Johnny won't give them any attention~" Since then, there has been Arashic (Summer '06), Taiwan (Sept. '06), Korea (Oct '06), AAA (Jan '07), Dome!AAA (April '07), Time (Summer '07) and now this in September/October. o Arashi you silly geese, stop being so damn popular.
Not related, but I think I'm going to prison for stalking. DD= Last Samurai was on TV yesterday, and I happened to walk into the living room just as Shichinosuke was speaking in his horrible Engrish. So I got to thinking again about where the Nakamura house in Arizona was. (You may remember Jun hijacking it a while ago.) For shits and giggles, I went to an online phone book and looked up "Namino." There is only one "Namino" in Arizona, in Scottsdale. The owner is age 55? Check. Near a golf course? Check. O SHI THIS IS IT. I didn't really expect to find it, especially so easily. It gave the address and phone number and Google Map pictures and everything. ;; Now I feel like a horrible stalker. Anyway! I go ask my aunt, "Do you know where exactly in Arizona Scottsdale is?" and she replies, "What are you talking about? You know where it is. We were there a few years ago [visiting relatives]." DDDDDD= All along I thought we went to Phoenix. 8D;; Just as the wiki article says, yes, everyone there are horrible snobs, including my relatives. This means I missed my chance to drive by and wave at Matsujun's best friend's father's vacation house. Come on, doesn't that sound like a thrilling experience? No?
FYI, Kiiroi Namida DVD preorders are out. With English subtitles, whoo. Was I the only one to not get a mail notification from CDJapan about it? Limited Edition, Regular Edition. Using my points saved up from AAA, it only costs $79.80! *ded* Now if only Happiness will get back in stock so I can order that, too.
edit: Oh hey, the first 8/30 ticket to get over 100,000yen sold today. *weeps in a corner* Well, it was a pair of tickets, but still. There's really no proof that the seller even has tickets. (Actually, the seller has bad feedback.) People are crazy.
<-- Another split second clip that I managed to make a screenshot of. Does Matsujun have new glasses or does Harry Potter have errands to run in Japan? 8D~ Hope he didn't get rid of the Mikli's, but it's Jun in awesomely dorky glasses, so how can I complain. Those are just two things I wanted to talk about out of the who knows how many clips that came out in the last few days. Others include: Jun finally realizes that drinking is not kuul, thanks to Shun, and that you can get away with stealing socks from your stylist if you are famous. Headed for a life of crime, that boy.
...it just took me four hours to write those two paragraphs because my computer keeps shutting off automatically every few minutes. D< There's so much more I need to fangirl (Hanadaaan 3) but will refrain before I get an aneurysm.
I obviously have a lot of trouble spamming two places at once. *catches up*
S- Shichinosuke on Vanilla Kibun. ;; Apparently, Jun showed up at his house (Did he bang the gong?) and said "Hay Ima go to Arizona, gimme the keys to yer villa!" and Shichinosuke happily obliged. Although after he got to the villa, he was never able to leave it because of a downpour. xD Not that he missed much. I have visited family in Arizona once, and it is, as far as my knowledge goes, the most boring place on Earth. With Vox's new upload limit on videos, I can't share the file. 50mb wtf? That makes it pretty much impossible to share anything now. At least I get to use my Shichinosuke tag again.
Any reliable news about the Korean con out so far? I'm talking about news clips or reports from people who are there, not random English blogs 'translating' from unknown sources. The Korean Ebay keeps crashing Firefox, and nothing is coming up on Yahoo Japan, so I don't even know what the goods look like. (aside from the fact that they are red.) I know it's way too early, but I can't occupy myself with making fun of Matsujun's yankee-style flowery trench coat forever. I'm so curious for more details. D=
After listening to the Jun Style Arashi song ranking for the last few weeks, I've been thinking about my own ranking. I came up with this:
1) Fight Song, 2) Hero, 3) I Want Somebody, 4) Kitto Daijoubu, 5) Right Back to You, 6) Runaway Train, 7) Hadashi no Mirai, 8) Tochuu Gesha, 9) Cool & Soul, 10) A-RA-SHI
Honorable mentions (It would break my heart to leave out any of these.): Wish, Natsu no Owari ni Omou koto, Kansha Kangeki Ame Arashi, Dear My Friend, Carnival Night part2, Subarashiki Sekai, Harukaze Sneaker, Yes No, and Kotoba Yori Taisetsu na Mono. *shot* Don't get me started on solos.
Out of my top nineteen, only seven of those made the presumably mostly Japanese ranking. I remember him talking about seeing a Taiwanese Arashi song ranking and being surprised at the difference, so now I'm wondering about how much difference there is between other countries. or, more likely, I just have bad taste. 8D
A slightly better quality clip from the 6/16 episode of Mentore G with Nakamura Shichinosuke AKA 'Namino.' Shichinosuke has been BFF with Matsujun since high school (In fact, Shichinosuke was the only reason Jun decided to go to high school at all.) and was invited on (in a VTR) as a surprise guest to talk bad about him on TV. He then gets pissed that Shichinosuke ignored his phone calls a few days before because he was out eating with a girl. xD Anyway, the Nakamura household sounds like the kuulest place ever. No wonder Jun stays there so often.
Since that clip was so difficult to upload, I tried out the importing from Youtube feature. Somehow, it feels like I'm stealing someone's hard work by not uploading it myself, but I'll put this up anyway? 8D;; This Utawara performance will always be special to me, because it's the first time I saw an Arashi performance live on TV in Japan. Well, even if I didn't watch it in Japan it will still be special because it's just that awesome. They sing Aozora Pedal dolefully, do a slightly different rendition of A Day in Our Life, then end it with a group version of I Want Somebody. This is the same version and choreography they do at the concert and it's just as amazing live. <3330934583
Was finally able to watch this week's Mago this morning. Ufu, I can't comment on it without spoiling the outcome. Now I just need to find last night's Utawara. Putting Matsujun and his favorite drinking buddy Tackey in the same room is always a recipe for something interesting.
