The night I made my last entry I got so sick I was quite sure I was actually going to die. It's only a cold. I haven't even been able to sit up long enough to use the internet, except for the few minutes it took to start the download for Hachikuro episode 1. Only this morning am I starting to feel slightly better, but that might just because of the recent news. Leader's new play! <3 With Atsu-nii too! I miss No Border. Of course, I preordered the new single right away. The last time they had a making-of was Aozora Pedal, right? I'm excited, but a little disappointed that Fuyu wo Dakishimete is only an extra on the regular edition. (Well, by the time of the release, it will almost be Spring, so I guess I can understand.) Most fans buy both versions anyway so I don't know why I'm worrying. I always need something to worry about, is all. Now when will calender preorders start? *worries*
I watched Shukudai-kun. This is way late, I know. It seems Matsujun's pet owning craze is back again? With a heart at the end of his sentence, to top it off. I remember a while ago he asked Aiba-chan for animal advice, but I thought it had gotten out of his system. xD So now I've been doing research on a good breed for him. (I have too much free time) Based on the fact that he listed owning a dog as his "small goal" for 2008, I must say that he doesn't need one at all with that sort of thinking. Hey Jun, a new family member is not a small goal in the least. Will he come straight home from work every night for the next 12~18 years of his life to take it for its daily walk, or will he go out partying? Will he take it to the groomers at least once month? Clip its nails and brush it every week? Will he have the ability to control his temper and not hit it if the dog has diarrhea all over his carpet or knocks over the trash can just to eat some gourmet used tissues LIKE MINE JUST DID. DDD< Ignore that.
...Okay, I'll admit it. If he takes care if it, by all means, I want him to get a dog just so I can see paparazzi pictures of Jun cleaning up poop off the sidewalk. I took one of those "What Dog Breed is Best for You?" tests with him in mind and number one was a Chinese Crested. xDDD Bichon was second. I would recommend a Shih Tzu (my baby), as they are one of the only non-shedding non-yappy small breeds, but their coat requires too much time. Maybe a French Bulldog if he wants to copy Nino. Although they're terribly cliche, a Golden (if his apartment allows large dogs) or a Toy Poodle might be best for beginners imo.
Also, even if it's not the end of the world, by all means come to Las Vegas, Arashi! It's just about the only place in America where a Johnny's artist won't be made a laughingstock out of. They sort of have the same mentality -- Feathers, sequins, and entertainment are much more valued than actual talent. I ♥ Vegas.
From the fact that I chose to psychoanalyze the perfect dog breed for Matsujun before talking about the Hachikuro drama, you might be able to guess my opinion of it. Sorry Touma. I don't know, I guess my hopes were way too high, like they always are for anything Hachikuro-related. This seems super nitpicky, but the guys just all seemed too young for their roles. Hagu's actress, on the other hand, looked way too old for a 15 year old, and her acting sucked. The worst part, though, was the music. That whimsical, soap opera-y BGM doesn't fit in at all, and it's just a crime for Spitz or Suga Shikao to not do the ending song. Some of the things I did like were Ayu's fighting scenes, Lohmeyer-senpai, and Nomiya's crew, all of which were absent from the movie. Judging from the preview, they're moving the story along fast, so I can't wait for the next episode. Hachikuro is my one true love, I won't give up on watching it this easily.
Wheee, let's start off another year with another sucky countdown! ...or so I thought! This morning, I woke up and headed straight to the auctions to find the uchiwa pictures and started my download, then headed
off to go shopping. When I got back, my download was still at 0% because I forgot to click the start button. *kills self* I didn't find a coat while shopping, either. The one I liked was $70. Who spends that much on a coat? I could afford to buy the Matsujun uchiwa on YJ, including all the commission and shipping fees, for that price. You know, maybe I'll do just that! and go without a coat for another year. So, because of the above, I was in a bad mood and expected a bad countdown. It definitely wasn't as good as 05~06 and the years before, but it was a great improvement from last year's. <3 There were tons of songs I wasn't expecting to hear, such as Seishun Amigo and Seaside Bye Bye, but Hitori no Haburashi and Pikanchi were tainted. Tainted, I tell you, by that young man in the skunk sweater. omg and who gave Taichi crack before going on stage? Contagious crack, at that. xDD I really have no comment on Hatsuuta. Well, it was cute? I like J-Friends' stuff better. One
major disappointment is that they didn't even sing the traditional Andalucía ni Akogarete. Or is Itoshii no Neapolitan the new Andalucia? I don't know. Another is MJ Jump, which, uh, didn't come into existence after all? Arashi did get more screen time than expected, so I can forgive. Touma too. <33333
Sorry Jun, Oono's glasses are much sexier than yours. Your MEGANE MOE
license will be revoked as of January 1st. Actually, I'm lying, I was
moe-ing all over the place. Also, don't get sick this New Year's or I
will throttle you. Sincerely, your loving fan Iropyon.
and a Happy Birthday to Kou-chan. <333 Although it's barely evening on the 31st here. Like every other day, I'll be going to bed between 8:30 and 9. Have fun partying guyzz but pls keep the noise down k. D=
edit: VOX WHY WON'T YOU WORK
edit2: In the year 2007 I made 111 posts. 8D
O internet. Around the middle of November it started acting up, right? It got better, only disconnected for about two minutes a day. Now it's worse again, and I can only stay on for ten minutes at a time, then it will go off for thirty minutes or so. Between that and having to stay up all night with a sick puppy + vet visits + all the hectic things that go along with Christmas = dead Iro. At least St. Nick's Day tomorrow will brighten things up a bit. Happy St. Nick's Day!
FNS! ♥ I got a download coupon for this, so I managed to download the performance in one of those ten minute intervals, but the talk part is being an ass and won't download. Those penguin tuxedos are just adorable. Everytime I see Nino's hair lately, I think of Yasashii Jikan. I've been wanting to rewatch it for a while now, and I think I will succumb to my urges soon, because Taku-chan is love. Who was it that yelled "Arashi!" at the end of the performance? Hirai Ken?
New Tongari CMs! ♥ It was a disappointment that Leader wasn't wearing a skirt in his cheer leading stint. And Jun's? Japan, your racism never ceases to amaze me. Any other civilized nation would send the writer of the commercial straight to jail, or at least a hefty fine. (and in an uncivilized nation, they would of course be beheaded.) I feel like a bad person now for laughing a little. xD;; But in all truth, Jun (and Shou, Aiba, Touma, and quite a few others) have much larger noses than any Caucasian person I've ever seen. Except Adrian Brody.
Uh, speaking of Touma, I'm getting really excited for Hachikuro now that I've seen the pictures, but I absolutely cannot get used to Nari as Morita. Morita's charm is that he's the miraculous 30 year old college student! It just won't be as funny if he's not visibly older than the rest of them. ;;; I'm sure my opinion will change when it airs, however.
Something I've been meaning to share, but keep forgetting - AlltoAvi converter. I'm sure I'm not the only one that weeps when they find a file they want to download, only finding out it's one of those annoying .rmvb, .flv, .asf files, etc. This is a completely free program that will convert all of them to .avi in seconds. There are no watermarks on the file and no "you only have five days left to use this, hahaha!" crap. My dream program. I know this sounds like I work for the people that make it, but seriously. I've been using it over the last few days to convert some Pokemon episodes (stop laughing at me) from .ogm to .avi and it's wonderful.
It's so much fun to wake up to frost sparkling all over the yards and roofs and then watch Leader take a bath in a trash can surrounded by fake snow. ♥ I really really loved the summer C100 commercial, but this one is great too. Can't wait for a clearer version of the song. Gah, I love winter. When is it going to snow here? ;;
I can't wait to see the Shou and Nino version of Hey Say Jump's commercial, either. I don't know, I haven't heard this song, but Hey Say 7's debut song made me vomit out my ears. Shou and Oono would have made more sense, though, as one of those kids has a huge crush on him. 8D But when does Johnny's ever make sense?
Not only that, there has been so many news announcements lately I cannot keep up. Yoko solo concert? Yey. I hate the idea of solo concerts (well, mainly Arashi having solo concerts) but I felt so sorry for Yoko being the only Eito member not to have had one.
Of course, Touma starring in the new Hachikuro drama news made me the happiest. EEEE TOUMA. I didn't like Shou as Takemoto, but I'm kind of sad to see the rest of the movie cast go. I think I was the only one that liked the movie cast, anyway. Wait, does this mean I'm going to see people creating wank over their hair colors and that their voices don't exactly match the seiyuu of the anime all over the Hachikuro comm on LJ? Actually, I'm the owner of the Hachikuro comm so I guess I could just ban everyone that annoys me. Ahaha. I'm sorry. ;_; I hope Nomiya and some others that weren't in the movie version appear in this.
As it is still the month in which everyone has birthdays -- I
hope Kouki and Nagase had good ones, and Happy Birthday in advance to
Tego and Takuya, in case I don't post before then. Much love for the
handy dandy Johnny's calendar. More importantly, Happy Birthday to mah
kuul doodz Trey (yesterday) and Xinny (today!) Anyone else I'm missing?
........you know that one necklace Matsujun sported in Wink Up that caused a bit of an uproar last week? Well, he's wearing it again in November Popolo. Also, is it just me, or does he have a ball-gagged lady on his shirt? xD Jun has gone off the deep end. Okay guys, I know it's hard to hear this, but, as fans, we need to support him through thick and thin, even now as he's inevitably leaving Arashi and getting a job as a stripper in a gay bar. I'm sure he'll do well. But seriously. Someone with more nerve than I should write in to Jun Style and ask about it. I'm curious. "Good morning, Jun! I am a big fan and listen in every week. Good luck with the dome concerts! By the way, are you aware that you're wearing a giant penis around your neck? Sincerely, (signed)" See, not that hard!
The last episode of Hanakimi. ;______; I knew the file would be hueg, so I got a clubbox coupon, but ended up downloading that Time fancam from oc244 and SMAPxSMAP, so it ran out before I could even download what I originally got it for. xD;; Only finished watching it just now. Well, the ending sucked, but I hate both Mizuki and Sano so that's not surprising. Not that Maki-chan and Shunkerbell didn't do a good job. (and I know exactly where they were standing in Narita airport! I was just there nomggg. I ate at the tempuradon restaurant right up the escalator there! TMI? Wut.) I cannot praise Touma enough. It made me love Nakatsu even more; hope he gets a lot of recognition for this. D< There were quite a few other actors I never noticed before that I've come to like, such as Mizushima Hiro (Nanba-senpai <33) and Yamamoto Yuusuke. (Kayashima) and basically everyone. I just have to mention the KagurazakaxSano moment, too. OTP4evar. *ded* I never thought of myself as a huge fan of the Hanakimi manga, but I really liked this drama. Yes, the screenshot to the left might be the main reason. Who could possibly resist pigtails Touma? ;;-;_:_;; I am more nonsensical than usual tonight.
edit: Arr, nearly forgot. Happy Speak Like a Pirate Day, mateys!
I might be the last person in the world to know, but the owner of the much missed Sweet Store has a blog where she posts scans. <3 I had almost started wondering if they were kicked out of all their usual magazines because no one is sharing them now, but there's so much new stuff here. ;_; Of course, it's all in Chinese, but you'll find your way with enough clicking! (For some reason there seems to be a lot of Arashi fans that speak Chinese anyway, so you guys will have no problem. Then again, you probably already know about it.) Now if only all these clubboxes and pdboxes will stop shutting down so I don't have to search high and low for videos and radio shows. Seriously, the fandom is dying. I think I'm going to start sharing some more stuff myself in the near future. >D
With last week's Yamada Tarou, I decided I didn't like the show all that much. The kids are incredibly annoying and it seems like it will become episodic. However, then there's Mimura. O Mimura, how I love you, let me count the ways! 1) He's rich. 2) He jams to heavy metal while flower arranging. 3) He tricks his friend into crossdressing, for the lulz. That's exactly my type of guy, or so I thought. Then this guy appeared and stole my heart away. Please, Touma, debut with that song.
ZOMG, the Tongari commercial. <333 Bugles (as they're called here) were always my favorite unhealthy snack as a kid, and I always loved putting them on my fingers and running around acting like I was some clawed monster. I stacked them on top of each other and made 'castles' too, just like Aiba. M- memories. Now I have even more stuff to add to my grocery list when I get to Japan.
Tomorrow I have to be at the bookstore at 7AM to stand in line to get a ticket to, get this, stand in line. Then I have to go back at midnight with my ticket and stand in line with a bunch of screaming children. All for a certain book. Aaaand as I will be reading this certain book until at least Sunday (depending on how long it is and how long I can stay awake, and how long I sit in a puddle of depression afterwards) I will be late in viewing the reports for Hokkaido. I'm not worried about that, really, but I'm hoping we'll finally get to see some official/unofficial concert photos. <333
MY DVD IS IN CHICAGO RIGHT NOW. You have no idea how much I want to make an eight hour road trip up there right now to go get it. xD Of course, it might pass me in a mail truck along the way and be waiting at home in St. Louis while I pull into the parking lot of the Chicago post office. Just like Romeo and Juliet. (or this week's ProDai episode, come to think of it. D<) O wherefore art thou, AAA DVD? ;_; My mailman is a really nice guy who, every time he sees a package from Japan addressed to me, delivers it first before his normal route. Please let him not have the day off. Even if I don't get it until tomorrow, it will still be the fastest I've ever gotten anything from CDJapan.
Today is also the Italian Hick Man Show! (title courtesy of Trey, please don't kill me.) I can't believe it's already half over. Let's hope Ban-chan's Prozac that he took at the end of the last episode carries over into this one. I don't think I can stand another episode of "o pity meh, I've been thru sow much, y dun u recognize mai talentz??/" Honestly, stfu already. Contrary to popular belief, though, I still love Ban-chan and the drama itself.
Oh yes, and Hanakimi is being made into a drama. I'm behind in my drama news, sue me. Horikita Maki is playing Mizuki! I like Maki-chan well enough, but hate Mizuki. Oguri Shun is playing Sano! I love Shunkerbell, but hate Sano. Actually, every character in Hanakimi annoys me to some extent, except for Nakao, Nakatsu, and Akiha. and guess who's playing Nakatsu? 8D~~ Toumatoumatoumatouma. I doubt my other two favorites will get much screentime, which might be for the best, because I will cry my eyes out if they dramatize the Nakao's Valentine chapter. ;_;
edit: omg, and Enjoy updated. <333 Life is awesome today and it's only 8AM. Time to dance on rainbows.
edit2: I got around to looking up the actors I didn't recognize in Hanakimi, and wow, the guy playing Akiha sure is feminine! ....Oh wait. This drama has turned into the dub version of Sailormoon.
I like to edit!: Didn't come. Guess who's not getting a complimentary popcorn tin this Christmas, mailman. DDD<
Was able to listen to Jun Style this morning without having an aneurysm looking for it like last week. One of the Christmas letters got me thinking. A mother wrote in looking for advice on what to do with her 5th grader who still believes in Santa. (Why someone would write to Jun about this, I don't know. xD) He replies that he stopped believing around 1st-2nd grade, which made me remember: I don't think I've ever been asked if I believe in Santa or not. I was one of those realistic kids that watched Discovery Channel all day and never believed any of that, yet I still get presents from Santa, St. Nick, the Easter Bunny, Leprechauns, the whole nine yards of make believe creatures breaking into your house to give you goodies. I don't know much about other peoples' traditions, so I'm not sure if it's just my family that's weird, or Japan. Probably me. xD Then again, he also made it sound like it was weird to give presents to your parents, which is unthinkable in my family. I <333 my overly commercialized Christmas, but I like listening to these stories too. In the end, he told the mother to dress up as Santa. lolz.
Ou-sama no Brunch was shorter than I thought. D= He complained that New York was the worst, and that it was so cold and he was going to die from the tough schedule. (italics for maximum drama queen effect!) Then proceeds to say he went drinking all night instead of sleeping. Enjoy your liver failure, Jun. At least Mao-chan was cute as always, if you ignore her unfortunate choice of footware.
In other news, I found out a few days ago I'm moving to Seattle sometime next year. The first thing I did was look up airfare from there to Tokyo. It's 1/3rd the price of flying out of St. Louis. I could afford to go to so many concerts. ;;;;; What do you mean, that isn't a good enough reason to move across the country?
Happy Birthday Ikuta Touma! Everybody loves Touma. Well, everybody except 90% of the JE fandom that don't know of his existence. =(
Really need to stop watching the sneaking-into-fans-houses episodes of Mayonaka no Arashi before I go to bed. My door opened last night and I sprang up going "They really came??" but it was just the dog. She seemed to think 3AM was a perfectly good time to crawl under the bed and snack on dust bunnies. *LAME* Shut up I have low blood pressure and can't think straight if I'm woken up unexpectedly. Ironically, I was having a dream about being lost in an airport with Kimutaku at the time. We were eating M&Ms. I don't want to know.
I am in eternal debt to Sir Lumi for uncovering a second Arashic Osaka fancam. <333333 This one is for the first performance on the 29th. The show I went to. =o =o If that's my head blocking the camera, I apologize. 8D You can see a lot of things that were cut off in the 30th fancam, but in some parts this one is just as bad. There were also some parts that I remember vividly in my head, but didn't see, like Jun the kissing fiend and his boomerang autograph board. Please stop making me feel like I've lost my mind, Arashi. I swear I didn't make those up. I could still remember parts of the MC word for word, though. <33 Yeah, I probably deserve to lose my mind.
It looks like Arashi and Miyake Ken are going to be guests on Sarudie on the 11th. That's an odd combination. and an ever odder show.
